The Browning Dark Ops Pro XD features a dual-lens setup for exceptional performance during daylight and after dark when shooting 24 megapixel photos or recording 1080p full HD video clips, all controlled via user-adjustable settings that are second to none in terms of versatility.
The majority of trail cameras you will find are endowed with a single lens that performs two duties; observing its surroundings whether it is daylight or darkest night. Adjustments to image quality are made automatically according to the level of ambient light which is available and this usually means that there is some compromise to be made between performance and quality. The Dark Ops Pro XD from Browning goes a step further by doubling down on its lenses and offering a pair arranged side by side, with one handling image capture when the sun is up while the other is optimised for nighttime operations.
The upshot is that any of the 24 megapixel images that this trail camera captures will look its best, since the best lens for the job will be put into use on the fly. As you would imagine, the night-tuned lens is able to let in more light and pick up the infrared rays that are reflected back from the subjects that are caught in the beam of the built-in LED flash. You can change the range of the flash to your liking and make a range of other adjustments to the shooting settings and modes. The flash is completely invisible to people and animals alike, which means that the Dark Ops Pro XD really lives up to its name in the pitch black night.
Other noteworthy features of this camera include its rapid trigger speed of just 0.15 seconds, which is fast enough to snap even the nippiest of critters. It also has a memory card slot which will work with cards of up to 512GB in capacity, so you can set it up and leave it in situ without worrying about it becoming full, provided that you supply a large enough card yourself.
