The Ltl Acorn 5610A is a compact, well-equipped wildlife camera that comes with a lot of bells and whistles packed into its relatively small frame. It is also fairly cost-effective given the features that it offers, so should be a good option for newcomers and veterans of nature photography alike.
First and foremost, this is a still camera which can be set up out in the wild and capture animals in their natural surroundings, with its motion-sensing triggers firing in just 0.8 seconds to ensure that nothing is ever missed. It boasts a 14-megapixel sensor that can take pixel-perfect images with a high level of detail and the creatures will be none the wiser.
The Ltl Acorn 5610A works just as well during the hours of darkness as it does in the daylight thanks to the built-in bank of 44 LEDs. This array produces a bright flash of infrared illumination which will not disturb the wildlife but will ensure that you can record exceptional images throughout the night.
Another important feature of this camera is its ability to shoot high definition video in both 720p and full 1080p. In the 720p setting it will record at 30 frames per second, and this is halved to 15 frames per second when the 1080p mode is activated.
Video recordings are also accompanied by full sound capture, which means that you can create mini-movies of living, breathing creatures in a way that will really bring you into the action.
The 5610A edition of this camera trap comes with a standard 55 degree lens, but there is a wide-angle version with a 100 degree field of view that otherwise shares all of the same features as this model.
To make sure that you get the best pictures at the right moments, timers can be set so that the camera will only trigger during the desired periods of the day or night. You can also implement a time-lapse mode that builds up a bank of sequential pictures that you can stitch together later to create a compelling time-shifted clip of the changing scenery and the comings and goings.
Storage is provided via a microSD card slot, and the camera is compatible with cards that offer up to 32GB of space on board. Power is provided by AA batteries, and there is room for up to 12 cells on board. Of course, you do not need to pack in that much power all at once, as just four AA batteries will be enough to get the camera up and running, albeit with a shorter lifespan.
Your photos and videos can be reviewed via the built-in 2.2 inch LCD display on the rear of the Ltl Acorn 5610A, so you do not need to plug it into a PC or laptop to get a look at all the great wildlife you have captured in action. Meanwhile, the sturdy exterior housing keeps all of the interior electronics safe and secure in a variety of weather conditions, while the one-year warranty will give you peace of mind in case anything goes wrong after you buy it.
