Spypoint Force 20
If image detail is at the top of your wish list when choosing a trail camera, the Force 20 from Spypoint could be the most attractive option on the market at the moment. This model boasts a 20 megapixel image capture setting, ensuring that it stands out from its siblings which are equipped with lower 12 megapixel capture capabilities.
Facts & figures
The Force 20 is not only worth considering because of its 20 megapixel setting, but this is certainly one of the main reasons that people will consider investing in it in the first place.
Paired with this impressive pixel count, you get a trigger speed of 0.7 seconds, a motion sensor that has a detection range of 21.3 metres and a flash setup that includes 48 super low glow infrared LEDs so that subjects can be illuminated even if it is dark and they are quite a distance from the camera unit itself.
Whenever photos are captured, other information such as the time, date, temperature and even phase of the moon will be appended to them so that data hounds can delve into this at a later date.
Video capture at resolutions of up to 720p HD is possible, so while it may not have the full HD shooting capabilities of some trail cameras, it should be more than adequate for amateur use. It does not have a built-in mic, so no audio will accompany the videos.
Power & storage
There is no onboard battery featured on the Spypoint Force 20, so to use it you will need to add 8 AA batteries. The battery life will vary depending on the settings you choose; clearly, a more rigorous shooting schedule will drain it more rapidly than a more conservative one, so this is worth bearing in mind.
Captured media will be stored to an SD memory card, with a 16GB unit included as standard with this product. For the price, you will be hard pressed to find a trail camera that can match it.
The Spypoint Force 20 is a trail camera with a high resolution 20 megapixel image capture setting, a responsive trigger speed and the ability to work in complete darkness without disturbing wildlife, thanks to its super low glow LED array.
