The Spypoint Link Evo offers a balance between wireless performance and cost-conscious affordability, with 4G connectivity and a 12 megapixel image capture capability setting it apart from similarly priced trail cameras from rival manufacturers.
Spypoint Link Evo
There are a number of trail cameras in Spypoint’s Link line up, with the Link Evo being able to offer the best of both worlds in terms of performance and price.
The 4G LTE connectivity that this camera offers is perhaps its most significant selling point, since it means that it can send photos wirelessly to your smartphone and also be controlled remotely from the Spypoint Link app, which is compatible with most major devices.
Provided that there is adequate signal coverage in the area where you install the camera, high-speed data transfer should be achievable straight out of the box, because the SIM card that is installed is pre-activated and requires no additional setup.
From an image quality perspective, the 12 megapixel maximum capture resolution of the Link Evo should be suitable for most purposes. It will capture colour images during the hours of daylight, then when the sun sets, it will turn to its super low glow IR LED arrays to illuminate subjects and keep on capturing into the small hours.
The flash has a range of 27 metres, while the motion detector will be triggered at distances of up to 24 metres to ensure you do not miss out on those amazing, often unseen moments that can happen when humans are not around.
Other points of interest
Video recording is possible with the Link Evo, although it does not have a microphone built into it and so no sound is captured to go along with the footage. Clips of up to 90 seconds in length can be shot when the trail camera is triggered.
Durability is the watchword of this product, and it will not only survive admirably in inclement conditions, but will also keep on working even if the temperature falls well below freezing.
