The Spypoint Link Micro is a seriously compact trail camera which still manages to pack in plenty of powerful hardware, offering image capture at resolutions of up to 10 megapixels as well as high definition video recording and cellular connectivity.
Spypoint Link Micro
Size matters and the Link Micro from Spypoint proves that sometimes smaller is better, thanks to its super compact form factor combined with its impressive array of features. If you need a trail camera with cellular connectivity that does not take up very much room at all, this is the model to pick.
Small but mighty
The camouflaged chassis of the Link Micro, paired with its miniaturised build, makes it very difficult to detect once it is in situ. This means that wildlife will not be alerted to its presence; the same goes for intruders if your intentions are security-related.
This trail camera has a 10 megapixel maximum resolution for stills and also has a motion sensor that allows capturing to be triggered provided that the subject is anywhere within the 24.3 metre range that this unit can achieve.
The main telltale sign that this camera is in use will be its antenna, which protrudes from the top half and allows it to connect to LTE mobile networks. This, in turn, means that any pictures that it snaps can be beamed to your computer or smartphone on the fly.
The benefit of this kind of connectivity is not just the convenience of being able to see photos as they are taken, rather than having to visit the camera in person to review them yourself; it is also down to the speed of LTE networking. You will not need to wait around for ages while images load, but can instead expect very fast transfer times, provided that the signal is strong enough.
Power & storage
You will need 8 AA batteries to bring the Link Micro to life and keep it operational for a few weeks, with your own settings determining just how long it will last before the batteries need to be replaced.
A microSD memory card slot is on hand to allow you to add your own storage media and the camera is compatible with cards of up to 32GB in capacity, although such add-ons will need to be supplied separately.
